Autonomic Response Testing (ART)

Your body knows what it needs to heal. ART helps us listen.

What is Autonomic Response Testing?

Autonomic Response Testing (ART) is an advanced form of muscle testing that uses feedback from the autonomic nervous system to help identify what may be affecting your health and what is needed to support healing.

The Autonomic Nervous System

The Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) operates automatically, without conscious effort. It is in continuous communication with every cell, tissue, organ, and system in the body — regulating heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, digestion, immunity, and more.

When stressors interfere with ANS function, these imbalances may not always show up in conventional lab testing. ART is used to identify these more subtle patterns of dysregulation and understand what is driving them.

What is tested with ART?

ART assess the stressors that are interfering with autonomic nervous system (ANS) function. These can include:

  • Imprints of trauma

  • Toxic metals or environmental toxins

  • Scars, piercings, tattoos

  • Dental issues

  • Energetic disturbances

  • Bacteria, fungi, parasites, viruses

Remote ART Session

If you’ve never experience remote ART, it’s natural to wonder what a remote session actually looks like and how something so precise can happen from a distance. The processes is simpler than you might think, and every step is designed with your comfort and clarity in mind.

What to Expect: The 3-Step Process

1. Your Consultation & Voice Sample

Your appointment begins with a conversation reviewing your health history, symptoms, and lab work so that the assessment is grounded in your full clinical picture.

  • Consultation:

    • Before your appointment, you’ll complete intake questionnaires so your appointment time is focused and productive. The questionnaires will be reviewed during your appointment and used to guide the conversation.

    Treatment:

    • imaet - a quantum bioenergetic technology - will be used (if indicated) during this time to gently begin identifying and clearing emotional and energetic stress patterns to help settle the nervous system before ART. This will allow the ART session to flow more smoothly and reach deeper layers.

    Voice Sample:

    • As you speak, your voice naturally carries your body’s energetic signature, no special preparation needed. This becomes the starting point for you ART assessment.

2. Autonomic Response Testing (ART)

Remote ART will be performed, and your personalized treatment plan developed.

  • ART:

    • Your voice sample is used to access your biofield for the testing and treatment (as needed using various energetic techniques as well as imaet to clear any emotional and energetic patterns coupled with physical symptoms).

    • During the ART session, some people report noticing a sense of relief as energetic layers are identified and cleared in real time as they arise.

    Treatment Plan Write Up:

    • From ART findings your personalized treatment plan will be developed.

3. Your Personalized Treatment Plan Review & Next Steps

Your appointment will conclude with a conversation reviewing the ART findings and your new treatment plan.

  • Consultation:

    • This will be the time to review what came up during ART, discuss your new treatment plan, and address any questions.

    Treatment:

    • imaet may also be used here to support integration and nervous system balance.

    Treatment Plan:

    • Your written protocol will be available to you through your patient portal.

ART is for you if:

  • You have been told your labs are normal but you still don’t feel well

  • You have a diagnosis but don’t know where to go from there

  • You have many symptoms that haven’t been connected or explained

  • You have tried multiple approaches without lasting results

  • You feel like something is being missed or overlooked

  • You want to understand what your body specifically needs rather than following a general protocol

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

  • ART was developed by Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt, MD, PhD, a German-trained medical doctor and researcher internationally recognized for his pioneering work in biological and integrative medicine. Developed in collaboration with leading physicians and researchers, ART draws on decades of foundational work across neurology, biophysics, acupuncture, and quantum biology. Dr. Klinghardt’s methods are taught to thousands of practitioners across the U.S., Europe, Asia, and South America.

  • You don’t need to. Just show up with an open mind, the same way you would for any lab test or assessment. Together we focus on what your body reveals and the next steps.

  • Lab testing is an important tool and remains part of the picture. ART is not a replacement for it.

The limitation is that lab tests measure biochemistry, and health is not created by biochemistry alone. This is why you can feel terrible and yet have test results that say everything is fine.

ART fills in the gaps by viewing health through the lens of biophysics rather than biochemistry alone. It can identify areas that labs often miss — such as parasitic infections, dental toxins, and emotional stress patterns — and helps guide and prioritise the order of care, so treatment is targeted rather than scattered.

  • ART reveals what your body is currently prioritising for treatment. Think of it like the layers of an onion. Each session works through what the body is ready to address at that time, with deeper layers becoming accessible over time.

You will receive a treatment plan guided by what comes up during each session.

  • Standard muscle testing doesn’t account for whether the body is in a state to give accurate responses. ART does.

Before a full ART scan begins, two things that can interfere with accurate testing are checked:

    1. Blocked regulation, which refers to the inability of the autonomic nervous system to self-regulate and adapt, meaning the body has lost its capacity to respond accurately to what’s being tested.

    2. Neurogenic switching, which is a neurological term referring to crossed or misdirected connections in the nervous system, like an electrical short circuit. When switching is present, the nervous system isn’t communicating clearly and testing results can’t be trusted.

Checking for and correcting both before a full ART scan begins is what makes ART a more precise and reliable form of testing. You’re not just getting a response from the body, you’re getting an accurate one.

  • All ART sessions are conducted remotely. The process may surprise you with how simple it is on your end.

Your voice serves as the access point to your biofield (a field of energy and information that reflects your state of health).

Think of it like a radio signal. A tower broadcasts on a specific frequency, and your radio tunes into it from anywhere, no physical connection needed. Remote ART works on a similar principle, through the quantum field (an invisible field of energy that connects all living things) rather than airwaves.

Dr. Irina has done both in-person and remote ART, and finds remote ART is just as effective and accurate as in-person sessions.

  • The voice is directly regulated by the autonomic nervous system — the same system that ART assesses. This makes it a uniquely precise access point to your system.

When you speak, your voice reflects the real-time state of your autonomic nervous system — its coherence, stress patterns, and underlying imbalances. Dr. Irina tunes into the frequency of your voice during your consultation, which gives her a direct and living connection to your autonomic function and biofield, allowing ART to be conducted remotely with the same accuracy as in-person testing.

  • Yes. Remote ART has been part of Dr. Irina’s practice for close to a decade and a core part of her practice for almost 7 years. She finds it to be clinically reliable and an effective method of assessment — with the added benefit of being accessible from anywhere in the world.
